What is the Chamber?
The Chamber is:
- A voluntary organization of business people working to preserve the competitive enterprise system;
- Dedicated to promoting the general welfare of the Thomasville area so that its businesses will prosper;
- A promoter of a healthy commercial climate and ethical standards in the business community;
- A tourism backer in the area, working with historical organizations, civic groups, and societies;
- A supporter of other community programs in which public health and welfare are the goals;
- An action agency that gets results and meets community needs;
- A civic clearinghouse and public relations counselor;
- A legislative representative at local, state, and national levels of government;
- A research and promotion medium;
10 Reasons to Join the Chamber
- Increase your visibility in the community - as a new member you will be listed in the "Monday Memo", on Facebook, have the opportunity to be highlighted on the Chamber's website and be eligible for the "Business of the Week" promotion where we will highlight a different business each week in the newspaper, radio station , and website. You can also grow your business by advertising with the Chamber and sponsoring events. The Chamber will also promote you Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting and assist with any public relations.
- Networking Opportunities - The Chamber offers members many ways to network including, Business after Hours, Learn at Lunch seminars, Business at Breakfast seminars, Grand Openings/Ribbon Cuttings, and other special events.
- Advocacy - The Chamber represents the local business community at City Hall and other venues, giving a voice to the membership's ideas and needs.
- Professional Development - Each quarter the Chamber has the opportunities for memebers to attend training sessions, workshops and seminars that will help your business succeed, such as sales, marketing, social media, networking, and more.
- Cost-effective Advertising - With a Chamber membership you will be able to advertise in the Chamber Office with business cards and pamplets, list any news, promotions or events on the Chamber Website, and on Facebook, and are eligible for our "Business of the Week" promotions.
- Members ONLY Services - You can receive member to member discounts at our participating Chamber Member Locations. These discounts are exclusive to Chamber Members Only. The Chamber also provides assistance with Ribbon Cuttings including assistance with public relations, providing ribbon, and ceremonial scissors.
- Access to Chamber's Membership - As a member you would have asscess to the database which has several businesses. This is a great way to reach out to those members, network and make referrals.
- Credibility - Many members of the community consider the Chamber of Commerce membership to be a sign of a reputable, solid business. When you join the Chamber, you will receive a Chamber of Commerce decal to display in your business window along with a certificate, so that other businesses know you are a member.
- Access to community leaders and elected officials - The Chamber meets regularly with the city leaders regarding busniess issues.
- Small Business Advocacy - The Chamber focuses on the needs of small businesses in our community.
